Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is a passive practice focused on deep relaxation, using props like blankets and bolsters to fully support the body in long-held poses. It's designed to help activate the body's relaxation response, which can reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure, and calm the nervous system. Unlike more active forms of yoga, the goal is to relax into the poses without muscle engagement, focusing on stillness and breath to promote physical and mental rest and recovery.

restorative yoga class — gentle, supported poses for relaxation and recovery

Gentle Yoga

A slow-paced, accessible class focused on mobility, breath, and mindful relaxation. Suitable for beginners, seniors, and anyone recovering from injury or seeking a restorative practice. We move with intention through supported standing, seated, and supine postures, using props (blocks, bolsters, blankets, straps) to make each pose comfortable and safe. Breathwork and gentle joint mobility warm the body; longer-held, restful poses and guided relaxation restore the nervous system and improve flexibility, balance, and stress resilience.

What to expect:

  • Slow, clear instruction with lots of options

  • Emphasis on alignment, breath, and pain-free range of motion

  • Some props provided; bring a water, yoga mat, water bottle, and wear comfortable clothing

  • Leave feeling calm, grounded, and more easeful in your body

Ideal for: beginners, prenatal (with doctor note), older adults, injury recovery, anyone wanting a low-impact practice.

Hatha Yoga

A balanced, foundational practice combining steady asana (postures), conscious breathing (pranayama), and brief relaxation. Poses are taught with clear alignment cues and held for several breaths to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness. Suitable for beginners through intermediate students who want a slower-paced, technique-focused class.

What to expect:

  • A structured sequence including warm-up, standing and seated poses, gentle backbends and twists, and a guided Savasana

  • Emphasis on alignment, mindful breath, and proper transitions

  • Options and modifications offered to suit different fitness levels

  • Light use of props (blocks, straps, blankets) to support alignment and safety

Benefits: improved strength and flexibility, better posture, reduced stress, and enhanced mind-body connection.

Ideal for: beginners seeking fundamentals, regular practitioners wanting a steady, alignment-based practice, and students looking to build a reliable yoga foundation.
